Brumma Sri K.S. Gopala Dekshidhar born in Kandamangalam village in Thanjavur District, Tamil Nadu, India on 23rd May, 1931 and named after the deity (Lord Venugopala Swami) of that village. He is a practical philosopher. He dedicated his entire life for the study and dissemination of the Rig, Yajur, Sama and Adharvana Vedas.
He is the first son of Brumma Sri Subramaniya Deksidhar (Somayaji) whose family profession was practicing, nourishing and cherishing the Vedhas which are the roots of our culture. His mother was Valambal Ammal daughter of Sri Subramaniya Iyer and Srimathi Ammal from Thinniyam.
Sri Gopala Dekshidhar practiced Vedha Adhyayanam upto KRAMANTHAM for seven years in Thiruvaiyaru Vedha Padasalai and then he practiced SASTHRAM for five years. He is also an active agriculturist. In 1957, when he was 26 years, he married Vijaya Lakshmi daughter of Thazakkudi Ragupathi Iyer and Rukmani Ammal. He is blessed with two sons. Now he settled in Minneapolis, USA with his second son.
